ORC Week 4: Navy Painted Vanity

It’s the 4th week of the One Room Challenge and I’m starting to get nervous. The big projects are all coming together, but I’m struggling with some of the details. I swear the finishing touches are what get me every ORC. You would think I’d be better about planning/ordering ahead by now. Anyway, let’s jump right into my progress over the past week: the vanity is painted! It’s Parisian Nights by Dunn-Edwards and it’s the perfect navy color. It’s the same color as our master bedroom walls and the door from our garage into the house. I’m using this color everywhere (and I still have more paint leftover)!

I love how it turned out! I also added knobs to the vanity and I think it looks so much better with hardware. I have pulls that I still need to add too, but I couldn’t find the drawer template for drilling holes when I was doing the knobs. I’ve since found it and I’ll have those on for next week’s update. I also installed a new toilet paper holder. I love the brushed nickel-navy combo!

I also got the new towel bar installed and my new towels have arrived! I ordered these Turkish cotton bath towels and hand towels from Amazon and I LOVE THEM! They are SO pretty in person and they add so much need pattern and texture to the room.

My goal for next week is to paint the trim, install the pulls on the vanity, caulk the new countertop, install the backsplash piece, and get the artwork figured out for the room. I think I know what prints I want to use, I just need to find frames.

Center junction box/light fixture

  1. It looks great! Navy and silver just go together so perfectly. Plus I love navy as a color in the bathroom, it just makes sense imo.
