And after all of that, here’s where we are today:
Most of the items are from Target or Amazon. It was so convenient to be able to just shop online at night while Adam was watching basketball. I feel like I found some really great pieces and that it doesn’t completely look like it was all from those 2 places…at least that’s what I hope. I was really surprised by all of the amazing home décor pieces from Amazon! Like that macramé wall hanging, the textured throw blanket, and the hanging planter! I’ll link to everything at the bottom of the post.
It’s hard to pick my favorite thing in the room, but I’m obsessed with the bed and I love the framed art from Jenny’s Print Shop! Those pieces definitely make the room. My parents are coming for my birthday at the end of June and I’m so excited for them to see it. My mom was here when it was like half done, but so much has changed since then.
I didn’t really have a set budget, but I didn’t want to go buck wild for just a guest room either. I feel like I found some great pieces for the price and I bought a lot of the Target items during a 30%-off online sale to save even more money. I also reused the nightstands, lamps, chalkboard, chair, and mirror from the previous room. I definitely saved a few hundred dollars that way. I included a budget breakdown below, so you can see exactly what I spent. Obviously the mattress was half of the budget, but a comfortable mattress is so important!

I want to send a huge thank you to Linda from Calling It Home for creating this event and continuing to host it twice a year. Without the One Room Challenge, we’d probably still be discussing if we should upgrade to a queen-size bed or not. I really need the accountability from the challenge to start and finish a space. I’m hoping to continue the momentum and get working on our guest bathroom right away. I already ordered a countertop sample.
Also, be sure to stop by to check out the featured designers finished rooms and the other linking participants! So many talented people participated this round and there are so many beautiful rooms linked up.
